@Nehal: Yes, you can make gnocchi without the egg. In case the dough will get too sticky add a little bit more flour.

I dont have a ricer, so I used a potato masher, gnocchi still turned out great.

Dont have a ricer? Try pressing it through a pasta strainer. The holes are usually a bit larger, but will still work. I use it at the restaurant all the time!
